Guest Services Assistant

POSTION SUMMARY

This position is open year round. The Services Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Services Associates helping to
maintain Village cleanliness by assisting with housekeeping and laundry tasks in the Village.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

(principal duties and responsibilities; such as categories supported, staff size, volume managed, etc)

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Housekeeping: Ensure that lodges, guest rooms, and program facilities are cleaned and maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests and residents.
  • Laundry: Support the cleanliness and comfort of the Village by washing, hanging,, and folding linens, ensuring that fresh and well-prepared linens are always available for use.
  • Public Spaces Maintenance: Assist in cleaning and organizing public areas, such as lounges, dining halls, and common spaces, ensuring they remain inviting and conducive to community engagement.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide friendly and helpful service to guests, addressing any immediate housekeeping or laundry-related needs and contributing to a positive guest experience.
  • Restocking Supplies: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and laundry products in designated areas, ensuring that team members have the necessary resources to maintain high standards of cleanliness and comfort.

• Strength to lift and carrying items through the day.
• The ability spend 6-hours a day working on your feet.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and excellent hygiene practices.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively

Education

Holden Village is a community where your questions are valued and encouraged. Most programs led by visiting teaching faculty occur during the summer months. However, Holden also invites faculty to teach sessions for special events and retreats throughout the rest of the year.
