Guest Lodging
Your room will include a desk and a sink, and there are bathrooms at the end of each hall. The guest bathrooms in Lodges 2, 3 and 4 and the Hotel are multi-occupant dormitory bathrooms that are currently labeled women’s and men’s. We are working on long-term planning and fundraising to make more gender neutral guest bathrooms available through bathroom renovation projects.
The Village also has a number of wheelchair-accessible rooms. Please email registrar@holdenvillage.org to request an accessible room and learn more about Accessibility here.
Holden Village is a community that you join and participate in for however long your stay. Linens, pillows, blankets, and towels are all provided, so that you can make your own bed upon arrival.
When your stay has come to an end, we ask that you take your used sheets and towels to the Village laundry where you’ll be given a clean set of linens to place on your bed for the next guest.
In this way, you engage in the cycle of hospitality that is Holden Village and welcome the next guest to the space. Your participation welcomes the next guest and allows us to keep our prices lower and make this wonderful Village accessible to more people.
Please bring your own toiletries and keep them in your room. Please avoid bringing hair dryers, curling irons, or other such devices due to both limited electricity and fire hazard. Please see our Packing List for more information.
Teaching Faculty, Volunteer & Employee Housing
Teaching faculty and their guests are typically housed in a chalet (a small historic house). These large houses offer shared bathrooms (with tub or shower), a living room, and kitchen. The simple rooms are a variety of sizes with different combinations of single and double beds.
Short-term volunteers can expect to be housed in a lodge with one or two roommates, with gender neutral bathrooms down the hall. Long term volunteers and employees can expect to have their own room within a shared building with shared bathrooms. Families coming in the summertime as a part of Family Option can expect to be housed together in one room (a second room may be available for larger families or during times when there are extra vacant rooms in staff housing). You will receive your housing assignment when you arrive in the Village.
