Holden Board Bible Study

Holden Village Board Members Asa Lee, Jane McBride, Ben Stewart, and Felix Malpica will lead Bible Study this week. All are welcome to join!

Asa Lee (pictured top-left) is a socially conscious religious educator and pastoral leader. He is the new President of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. He is a sought-after lecturer exploring faith in the 21st century; religious differences; and empowerment of effective church leadership.

Jane McBride (top-right) is pastor of First Congregational Church of Minnesota, United Church of Christ, in Minneapolis. She is passionate about climate justice and racial justice.

Ben Stewart (bottom-left) is a pastor and professor; he’s especially interested in how ritual shapes our relationship to the natural world. A former Village pastor, Ben is a Gordon A. Braatz Associate Professor of Worship and Director of the Zygon Center for Religion and Science at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

Felix J. Malpica (bottom-right) is Bishop of the La Crosse Area Synod of the ELCA. He is a graduate of Luther College and Luther Seminary, receiving his M.Div. in 2013 and being ordained in 2014. He also currently serves on the Board of Regents for Luther College and as a council member of the Institute of Liturgical Studies at Valparaiso University.

      Education

      Holden Village is a community where your questions are valued and encouraged. Most programs led by visiting teaching faculty occur during the summer months. However, Holden also invites faculty to teach sessions for special events and retreats throughout the rest of the year.
