Andrew Fort

Andrew Fort is Music Director of the contemporary service at Augustana Lutheran Church in Portland, OR. Andrew plays, sings, and leads his band with a focus on songs that serve Augustana’s mission of social justice. The past several years have seen Andrew composing original preludes as well, usually based on the Hymn of the Day, and directing the occasional pop-up choir. He also serves as substitute organist for the Classical service, playing a selection of ELW hymns, liturgy, and Classical preludes and postludes. Additionally, Andrew is a Music Teacher at Tucker Maxon School, a school in Portland with a focus on children who are deaf and hard of hearing. He lives in Portland with his two (mostly grown) sons and his wife Jennifer. He tunes pianos when he has the time.

      Education

      Holden Village is a community where your questions are valued and encouraged. Most programs led by visiting teaching faculty occur during the summer months. However, Holden also invites faculty to teach sessions for special events and retreats throughout the rest of the year.
